What information is collected?
Personal information is considered: your name, address, email address and telephone number, financial information such as your payment method (valid credit card number, type, expiration date or other financial information). You may also provide information about your interests, activities, gender, age, and other demographic information such as your hometown.
Information collected from website and mobile applications
HOOTT offers you the possibility to get in touch with people from all over the world. This is possible by downloading the mobile app and installing it on your phone/device, or by accessing www.hoott.com on your computer/phone/device. The Service allows you to share your location with other users. To make this happen we collect information such as WiFi access points as well as other location information (longitude and latitude). This data helps us identify your location in a way that it can be displayed and shared with other members when choosing to view the "nearby" users.
What Information do you collect from VIP Members?
For a user to become a HOOTT VIP Member, we are required to collect the financial information necessary to process the payments for the chosen payment method. We don't store any credit card or other payment option details, but our payment service providers do (and are approved to do so by all applicable rules). When you access HOOTT we also collect technical information about your computer system or mobile device and statistical data. All information about your profile will be saved on your User Account. If you will start to use the HOOTT Application on another device, all your payments and credits details will be automatically redirected to your new device. We use this information to improve our website's and mobile applications' user experience, so you can have more fun with HOOTT!
Collected information when i'm using other websites
Cookies help us collect information about your devices (e.g. mobile phone, tablet, computer). A cookie is a piece of text stored on your device by your web browser. Cookies are a tool that stores certain information about website visits with the goal to recognize you and your preferences each time you visit and/or use HOOTT. When you visit the publicly available sections of HOOTT, an ID cookie is placed on your computer only while you're visiting. Persistent cookies are also placed on Users' devices, with the sole goal to remember user preferences and therefore enhance their experience with the Service, in a simplified and comfortable way.
We may also use persistent cookies on your mobile device, primarily for security and safety purposes, such as preventing phishers, scammers, unauthorized access attempts, to make sure that the account logged into and the device match, to protect our Users from spam and fraud actions, etc. This information is not used when you are logged out.
How is the collected information used
The collected data is used to perform general customer administration and support functions, communicate about HOOTT features, display users advertisement that is custom to their profile and preferences, investigate fraud claims or any kind of infringement of rights or similar issues, generate anonymous statistics designed to improve HOOTT Services.

How you can access and update your information
HOOTT registered Users have the ability to review and update their personal information online by logging into the account and clicking on the Settings button. You may review and/or modify the following personal information:
1. Contact details (email address)
2. Profile details and preferences
3. City, country, language
About the password:
HOOTT takes all necessary measures to ensure your account security. However, you are responsible for keeping your login information safe, and in order to do that we recommend that you do not share your account details such as username, email and password with any third parties including close friends and family members. In case you suspect that due to some reason someone else has used your login information, please change your password immediately by accessing your account settings via the mobile application or the website and contact HOOTT Support Team. Please remember to change your password periodically and to logout whenever you use a device other than yours or a shared device/computer.

How is your data stored
HOOTT applies the following storage terms: after you delete the information, or you terminate your account, we keep the data we gathered for a period of six months. Your history items and logs, are stored as well for six months. If an account becomes inactive for a period of 365 days, it will be terminated and all data related to the account will be terminated as well.
These security measures are in place to protect your data and avoid any type of loss, misuse, theft, change or fraud of the information that is under our control. HOOTT employs all necessary standard security measures, industry standards in order to keep your data safe. HOOTT's Technical Team is constantly working on improving the safety and security of our Users.
Delete or deactivate Your profile
If you want to stop using your HOOTT account it will be initially deactivated. This means that other users will not see you anymore when they use the "Nearby" feature, even if they may still see your profile from direct links. Since many users decide to temporarily deactivate their accounts for a number of reasons and would later like the option to restore their profile and information, the profile information is saved for their convenience and you may simply activate your account within 30 days. If you do not restore your account within this time period, your HOOTT account will be deleted permanently.
By removing information from your profile or deleting your account, you do not delete all trace of your profile from the Internet and copies of this information may still be visible and accessed because the information has been shared with other users, copied by other users, or shared with search engines. We do not have control of how your information is used outside of HOOTT and therefore you agree to take full responsibility for all Content and communication that you conduct via HOOTT Services and understand that this information may or may not be shared or copied by other users. If you have granted third party applications/websites access to your personal information, please be aware that they might retain this information to the extent that their Terms and Privacy Guidelines allow them to.
Third Parties Rights
HOOTT does not sell or share your information with any third parties and does not disclose any personal information that could be used to identify you. Aggregated user data of non-personal character can be used in marketing and promotional goals.
HOOTT works on creating and maintaining a healthy online community, and will cooperate with all law enforcement inquires to enforce their rights (intellectual property rights and others). Your information may also be disclosed to government agencies, law enforcement or private parties at the Company's sole discretion when it is necessary to comply to a legal process in order to protect our legal rights.
What happens if I do nothing on HOOTT?
If you do not use your HOOTT account for some time it is not a problem. You may start using it again whenever you wish to do so, your profile will not be deleted unless you chose to delete it, or deactivate it and not login within 30 days after that, at which point it will be automatically deleted.
Your account is personal and non-transferable, all rights to your profile information, content and personal data will be cancelled upon your death.
